Home.
So…back home. The trip yesterday took some 14 hrs or so. Long. I took the train straight from my house, and managed to get to hauptbahnhof with my overloaded and rather heavy suitcases. Totally regretting some of all that Primark shopping at that point. Day was hot as hell and I even had to wear my jacket as it simply did not fit in my bags. Sweaty! I had worked out my travel plan and was supposed to have some 10 mins to change over to my Hamburg train at hauptbahnhof. However, as I am standing there waiting for the lift taking me up to platform no. 10, I look up at the screen and read “Hamburg 12.33, Zug fällt aus”. That means train is cancelled. What a great start. The rest of my journey kind of depended on this one train. What to do?....Found another train departing half an hour later, it would work. One of those MEr train, that is regional = stopping at tons of places on the way. Got on and found a place to keep my bags near the doors. As previous train was cancelled, train quickly got overcrowded. Super over crowded. Hot. Sweaty. Stood up for most of the journey bent over my bags and breathing the stinky air of somebody’s sweaty armpit.
Got into Hamburg with some delay, so had to make it to the Eurolines bus stop real quick. Had no fucking idea where it was and dragged my bags around the whole station until I got help from a nice man in a small food shop. He pointed it out. I found it and was surprised to see the trip was going to be business class! wehoo, can not recall that I booked anything such. Free water, nice AC, comfortable seats..thanks for that Eurolines! Ferry Rödby-Puttgarden in Denmark and a chance to catch some sun and fresh air on deck. Arriving in Copenhagen 45 mins early. I was impressed!
In Copenhagen I bordered my train that was going to take me back to Sweden and Kalmar. Once again same story though. Train was completely full and at first it did not seem I would make it on. But I was determined to, this was the one last train going back and the one I had bought a ticket for. People were pushing and shouting to the people inside the train to walk down further to give room. But it simply was too full. At the very last second I caught the tiniest spot at the right side of the train doors. The people who did not make it on and were still at the platform wished us a pleasant journey by shouting “you fuckers! have fun on your trip all you deaf people!” The doors closed and off we went.
Again very crowded journey. My legs felt tired and I could not wait to sit down. Luckily quite a lot of people got off in Malmö and Lund, and after a couple of hours I could even get myself a free seat. Nice. By the time we reached Kalmar at 00.45 the train was almost empty. Only me, a Swedish guy who had been sitting next to me, and some 5 or so middle eastern youngsters who entertained themselves by buying coffe at the vending machine and singing songs in Persian. Once arrived, I took a cab back to my street, Fabriksgatan 14. Even though it is only a 10 min walk, there was no way I would drag those bags any further. My hands were already sore and full of blisters. Got back and was happy to see my flat again. It has been rented out, and I was relieved to get back and see that everything looked okey. Despite being very sad leaving Bremen and my life there, I have to admit it felt great to sleep in my own (big, soft, comfortable) bed again, have hot water in the taps and get to watch some TV! haha I guess my time in Bremen made me appreciate those small things…
Today I have spent the day unpacking my flat and put everything back into place. Now it feels like home again. In the next couple of days I am planning to see some friends and then head off to my parents’ place and visit the family for a while. …
I will finish by posting one of my recent statuses from Facebook, to once again say Thank you for the very special time these last couple of months has been....
"How could this time go by so fast?
During one of my first days here somebody told me “ you are going to have the time of your life here” . I can now conclude that those words were true! Thank you Bremen and all You people who made this a most amazing time! I had so much fun!
It hurts to say goodbye. Bremen, I will MISS you"

All good things come to an end
Lately it has dawned on me that I have less than one week left in this place. I do not understand how almost 5 months could fly by like this. All my classes are finished and all my exams done. The farewell ceremony last Friday officially marked the end of the semester.
I am not ready for this time to be over quite yet. I have had such an amazing time and met such wonderful people. I have felt better than ever! Times and memories that I will always treasure. Must it really end?
Bremen, I am going to miss you.

Partyjobb!
